Suter Art Gallery Trip: Nga Tangi o te Tangata

Well, we have had another fantastic trip to the Suter Art Gallery. On Tuesday 27 March Room 13 went to see the exhibition 'Nga Tangi o te Tangata' . We learned about the history of Nelson and Tasman through songs and arts. Esther told us the story about Kupe and Te Wheke a Muturangi, which tells how Kupe tricked the giant octopus to save his family. Some of the story was a bit gruesome and we got to draw a scene from the story using koru. The trip to the Suter was great fun and we heard some cool instruments. Thanks again to the wonderful parents that support Room 13 on these trips.

I did enjoy exploring your web page Room 13. I am looking for ways for the students at my school to be able to send the news of their learning to their families. I will show my students what you are doing. Keep up the great work Room 13.
